Privacy Policy
How we look after your personal information when you use this website or get in touch with us.
Last updated — 16 July 2026
This policy explains how North East Life Art Project collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use this website or contact us. We are the "data controller" for the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
North East Life Art Project is run as an independent (unincorporated) life-drawing project based in North East England. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at northeastlifeartproject@outlook.com.
1. What we collect
- Enquiry details you send through our enquiry form — your name, email address, phone number (if you provide it), the subject of your enquiry, and anything you write in your message.
- Correspondence — if you email or message us on social media, we keep that conversation so we can reply and help you.
- Basic technical data — like the type of device or browser you use and approximate region, collected automatically by our website host to keep the site running securely.
- Photographs — images from our sessions may show people who attend or model for us. We only publish these with the person's permission (see section 8).
2. How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you the information you ask for.
- To tell you about sessions, dates and events you've asked about.
- To keep the website secure and working properly.
We do not send marketing emails unless you've specifically asked us to, and we never sell your data.
3. Our legal basis
We rely on your consent when you choose to submit the enquiry form, and on our legitimate interests in responding to you and running the project. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
4. Who we share it with
We only share data with the trusted service providers that help us run the website and reply to you, and never with advertisers:
- Netlify — hosts the website and delivers enquiry-form submissions to us (netlify.com/privacy).
- Microsoft (Outlook) — our email inbox where your enquiries arrive.
- Eventbrite — if you book a session, your booking is handled by Eventbrite under their own privacy policy (eventbrite.co.uk privacy).
5. Data stored outside the UK
Some of these providers (such as Netlify) store data on servers outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, they use recognised safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses — to protect your information to UK standards.
6. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry messages only for as long as we need them to help you and for a reasonable period afterwards. If you'd like us to delete your enquiry and details, just ask and we'll remove anything we're not legally required to keep.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email northeastlifeartproject@outlook.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
8. Photography & images
We take care with images from our sessions. Photos that show identifiable people — including attendees and life models — are only published on this website or our social media with that person's permission. If you appear in a photo and would like it removed, contact us and we'll take it down promptly.
9. Cookies
This website does not use tracking, advertising or third-party analytics cookies. The only thing we store is a small note in your own browser ("local storage") that remembers you've seen our cookie notice, so it doesn't keep reappearing. You can clear this at any time through your browser settings, and it isn't shared with anyone.
