Safety First
Clear boundaries, mutual respect and professionalism protect everyone in the room — models and artists alike.
North East Life Art Project began with one simple belief: that everyone deserves a safe, creative space to draw, to be drawn, and to express themselves freely.
What started as a small gathering of artists in a borrowed room has grown into one of the region's most loved creative communities.
We saw that life drawing could feel intimidating, exclusive, or hard to find — so we set out to change that. We built sessions that put people first: no cliques, no snobbery, no pressure. Just a professional model, good materials, and a warm room full of people who love to draw.
Today, we run regular life drawing sessions at venues across the North East, alongside our flagship Bare to Bloom course for anyone who wants to become a life model. And we're still growing.
Everything we do is guided by a commitment to safety, inclusion and the simple joy of making art together.

Every body, every background and every ability is celebrated here. Art belongs to everyone.
Drawing is good for the soul. Our sessions are as much about connection and calm as they are about technique.
